The Irresistible Flavours of Spring!!
It’s March break here in Ontario and being a big ski family, for us that usually means a week at the cottage skiing! There really isn’t anything better than those Spring ski days. We wait all year for them. Warm, sunny days that make us feel closer to nature and happy to the core. We call them Blue Bird Days! Well, this year it’s warm alright, so warm that it’s raining and the snow has pretty well vanished. Which leaves us more excited for Easter! It’s early this year which could have meant a very wintery looking Spring holiday but luckily it looks like my favorite holiday will be as I imagined, full of colour and the hopeful anticipation of summer to come!
Shake a Leg and Get your Soup Slurp On!!
We all have that food memory from when we were young and sick don’t we? You know that one thing as a kid your Mom always made you to feel better? For me it was French Canadian Pea Soup! I loved everything about it as a child, and still do!!
I’m Officially ADDICTED to this Soup!!!!
So a few weeks ago I decided it was time to get my rear in gear and lose a few pounds that had snuck up on me over the winter. Like most of us, I wanted a quick fix! My mind went straight to that cabbage soup diet from when I was young.
I’m feeling a Little Flushed!!
The holidays have come and gone AGAIN! What a whirlwind they were too. I really expected lazy days with no real plan and lots of family time. Well some of that happened but not nearly enough. Slightly later sleep ins but otherwise I was pretty darn busy!
Halloween is in the air and in the Soup Bowl!!
There are so many things to love about Halloween. Yup, I know the first thing that came to your mind was candy, but how about we leave that to this kids this year and go healthy!
I’m Falling for the season’s Bounty!!
It’s that time of year again! Kids are back at school, wardrobes have been changed over and the days are getting shorter and shorter.
The Absolute Quintessential Taste of Summer!!
Every year by June my body just craves Gazpacho!!
This recipe is Pho-bulous!!!!
It’s a long weekend here in Canada, Victoria day weekend! So that meant something a little more special for Sunday brunch at the cottage this week. I’ve decided to go completely Paleo so other than the noodles and soy sauce (which I omitted for mine) this is a great recipe to adapt to your dietary needs.
It should be called electric soup. The taste will shock you!!
Last year we went on a trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley. Two of my favorite places on earth. We went to celebrate my husbands birthday (this was a big one, I won’t say the age). Usually every year we try and take a trip around his birthday in April and mine in July.
This soup could Thai me over everyday!!!
I sometimes feel I’m a bit obsessed with Thai food. I go through stages where want to cook it all the time but often find that although my dinners are yummy and rarely flops, they just don’t pack a punch like my favorite take-out spot!
This recipe is the exception!
