I’m Falling for the season’s Bounty!!
It’s that time of year again! Kids are back at school, wardrobes have been changed over and the days are getting shorter and shorter.
Faux rice is where it’s at!!!
I made a choice about 10 years ago to cut out most grains, lower my fat intake and cut out sugar, which of course was hard but with a little imagination and some savvy kitchen skills it’s been so much easier than you might think!!
Oh Tabbouleh, you make my heart sing!!!
I can remember my first taste of tabbouleh in high school. In the late 80’s (yup I know I’m old!) there was this big craze that started for falafels. Which really has stuck around (thank goodness)! My girlfriends and I used to go a couple of times a week for lunch or dinner and have them with all the fixings, which of course included tabbouleh!
Oodles and Oodles of Zoodles (yup that’s the term for zucchini noodles)!!!
I have a minor (ok major) addiction for spiralized vegetables and zucchini tops the list for me. I’ve been eating them instead of pasta for about 10 years and I absolutely love them! When I make spaghetti and meat sauce I make ribbons with zucchini so it’s thicker and heartier to soak up the delicious sauce!
Buffalo Chicken Not So Wingy!
First thing I have to mention is that I have a huge addiction to buffalo wing sauce, so much so that I keep a bottle in the center console of my car. Whenever I have to eat out on the road I like to have it to add to soups or wraps etc lol. I know I’m just a little bit crazy…my family would definitely agree!!

Thai food has been a staple take-out fare in our household forever!! About 18 years ago I can remember a Thai restaurant opening up in my neighbourhood and from the first bite, it was drunken love!
Duck, Duck….Potato? Yes please!
My husband loves these round little potatoes any way they come. I’m not exactly sure his fascination for them is entirely in their taste or in the shape lol. Either way they really are tasty to eat with the crispy outside and creamy center. If you can’t find them in your local grocery store don’t stress, they’re really just rounds from a larger potato made with a melon baller. Don’t have that either, than just cut up a peeled potato into a similar size chunk…think donut whole size! It will still taste just as delicious.

Brussel sprouts and cranberry sauce always evoke a definitive reaction from people but I LOVE them both!!!
