Hi there, I’m Nancy and happy you found me! My hope through this blog is to inspire all of you to stop at least once a week and prepare a meal that you sit down and share with your family. The American Italian at its best!!!
I’m lucky enough to be taking a few days off at the cottage right now! Like with most food bloggers we go through stages where we can’t get enough of the kitchen and then others where we want to eat take-out or leftovers for a week!
Oh Tabbouleh, you make my heart sing!!!
I can remember my first taste of tabbouleh in high school. In the late 80’s (yup I know I’m old!) there was this big craze that started for falafels. Which really has stuck around (thank goodness)! My girlfriends and I used to go a couple of times a week for lunch or dinner and have them with all the fixings, which of course included tabbouleh!
Spring has invaded my kitchen….and it’s making me grin ear to ear!!
My family, if asked, would tell you I’m obsessed with salad. AND they’d be right!!
Oodles and Oodles of Zoodles (yup that’s the term for zucchini noodles)!!!
I have a minor (ok major) addiction for spiralized vegetables and zucchini tops the list for me. I’ve been eating them instead of pasta for about 10 years and I absolutely love them! When I make spaghetti and meat sauce I make ribbons with zucchini so it’s thicker and heartier to soak up the delicious sauce!
Can’t keep a Good “Grain” Down!! Or is that suppose to be a good man??
It’s that time of year again….VACATION TIME!! The pressure’s on, I have 4 weeks until I have to put on that dreaded bathing suit. I’ve spent the last 4 months like so many others in big sweaters, leggings and Uggs. The season of not really noticing those extra few pounds or justifying them by saying we need to a few extra to keep us warm, is coming to a screeching halt very quickly! Picture Road Runner as he falls off the cliff and hits the ground!!
From Market to Mouth Never Looked So Good!!
This week I had the privilege to partner with McEwan Foods to create a recipe with a number of their amazing McEwan’s Own products. For those of my readers outside of Toronto and Canada, McEwan’s Food is the Gourmet grocery store brainchild of celebrity chef Mark McEwan.
Sweet, Sour and Spicy…not me, the salad silly!!
Thai food has been a staple take-out fare in our household forever!! About 18 years ago I can remember a Thai restaurant opening up in my neighbourhood and from the first bite, it was drunken love!
You can’t beat beets!!!!
As Christmas season 2014 comes to an end I find myself yearning for the fresh simple flavours of summer and fall already. I think the rich holiday foods have been the best, but I’m done. I’m now ready for crisp, cold veggies.
Is everyone all finished with being jacked up on sugar? It’s time to get back to a healthy reality. I love sugar and chocolate as much as the next person but am very ready to dig into something spicy and delicious.
As you know every Tuesday I’m going to be writing my post around chicken and trout for Blue Goose Pure Foods. Our combined concept is to provide recipes for the family, that are easy, delicious and healthy.
Well that’s a wrap! Halloween is over and we now have to wait a whole year again. Today’s blog isn’t going to be a long one…tired, tired, tired! The adult Halloween party was last night and what a blast it was. It’s an annual event put on by great friends at a local Resto/Bar and we are definitely a wild group of Halloweeners…or maybe just weeners…not sure! Either way it was FUN…but feeling it a bit today! I’m very grateful for daylight savings time today as well!!! Love that extra hour. 🙂 We had snow here yesterday so I’ve included a few pictures of our first snow fall here in Toronto, a picture of us from the party last night and the beautiful day we woke up to. Mother nature, you always amaze me. . The mix of the snow with the beautiful colourful leaves is almost magical. One of my daughters felt compelled to go out and build a teeny snowman. I’m getting very excited for ski season!!
