The not so ugly Duckling!!
My husband and I spent family day weekend without kids, which also ended up being Valentine’s Day too. I’m not a huge fan of fine dine eating for Valentine’s so we decided to spend the day eating and shopping our way through an amazing area in Toronto called Kensington Market. Now that’s my idea of the perfect day.
Now this is a waffle I can get into!!!
I may have an addiction to doing weird things with Pillsbury products in tubes right now!! I’d like to say this is the last thing you’ll see for a bit but I really can’t promise anything….
Can you wrap your head around Savoury Oatmeal!?!
When I first started to see recipes for oatmeal that wasn’t sweet I have to say I was very intrigued! I imagined it like a slightly healthy breakfast polenta or risotto! The question was will the taste good or yuk…well it tasted crazy good!
Pizza Morning, Noon and Night = SHEER JOY!!
How many times have you been asked the questions, “If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life?” and “What would your last meal be?”. Well my answer has always been and will always be, PIZZA!!
It’s time to get back on the wagon!
Ahhh those blissful days leading up to and during the holidays when we indulge, saying we’ll get back on track after the holidays. Well reality has hit hard….it’s now post Christmas and all that’s left are distant memories of friends, family and food, along with a few extra pounds!
Sweet, Spicy and Creamy all rolled into one!
Sweet buttery scones, spicy sriracha sausage and creamy poached eggs with avocado pretty much rock my world!
HAPPY SUNDAY! Can Mama Bear please stay in bed all day!!?!
It’s almost December 1st, which around these parts makes for very happy and excited kids. Finally it’s the month of Christmas with all the things that come with that season. Tomorrow morning “Elfie” shows up (you know, that tradition of elf on a shelf) and makes my youngest daughter jump out of bed each morning with the anticipation of finding Elfie’s newest hiding spot. Unfortunately with this tradition it leaves her Dad and I often waking up with terror that we forgot to move Elfie to the newest creative spot in the house. Just what I need more stress during the holidays lol. December 1st also brings this years advent calendar and advent tree. The calendar is always made up of something cheap and chocolaty where as the small kid sized tree is filled with small truffle boxes with tiny trinkets and hand written coupons with a myriad of activities and fun things they can redeem throughout the year.
It’s late and I’ve spent the last 9 hours walking around Boston; shopping and eating! What a day!! It’s my first time here and it’s been a beautiful long weekend. It’s a city deep in history with an air of peaceful romance everywhere. We walked Boston Common, watching the kids and adults alike skate on Frog Pond, walked the entirety of Newbury Street, saw Fenway Park, and Copely Square. Oh and did I mention we shopped??!?!
Lately I’ve been craving red meat. Sometimes I think our bodies tell us what we need. maybe I’m lacking in iron right now? Whatever the reason my mind and stomach were both saying STEAK! So steak for brunch it is. My husband and I both love anything and everything spicy so we put a ton of peppercorns on it before cooking it in the pan but that’s entirely up to your tastes buds.
