Happy Valentine’s Day!! Chocolate coma here I come….
Ahhh that fateful day when the outcome rarely meets the expectation. Ok girls…you all know what I mean right?!?
Happy World Nutella Day!!
Growing up I had a lot of Italian friends and they would talk about this Nutella stuff they had for breakfast everyday. I was and still am a peanut butter girl so as kid I wasn’t very open to trying new things.
Life is full of nuts and sweet treats!
So it’s been a busy week in my kitchen. I’ve been doing a lot of recipe testing (thanks friends for being my guinea pigs) and socializing! Two of my favorite things!
Chocolate Banana Panettone Bread Pudding
So I’m sure you’re wondering why I’m starting the series with dessert…the answer…cuz I can and why not!! I’m definitely a carb junky and not always a big sweet tooth. But when the craving hits this is absolutely what I would always want to eat.
Life is not worth living without peanut butter!
Chocolate is a beautiful thing and peanut butter is the greatest…mix them together and let’s just say it’s my kryptonite!!
‘Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame street’
Ahhh the 70’s and 80’s were the best…a simpler time. Ok well, simpler for me anyway, I was just a kid! In those days I worried about nothing except for friends, running around outside and what I could have for treats. No worry about, weight, health or the gym. Sometimes I dream of those days again and COOKIES! I have to admit, I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but I’ve always loved cookies. and chocolate. So mix them together and it’s heaven.
It’s Friday…yahhhh!!! Been a pretty chill week for us. I think with the weather getting colder and the time change, I seem to be in hibernating mode already. We had our first snow fall last weekend so this week it became about getting the winter tires on the car. Nothing worse than getting caught in the first storm of the year without the right tires…
With my English roots I’ve always wanted to make Sticky Toffee Pudding and finally got around to it. I partially made this because I was going to a friends for dinner and also because my husband LOVES anything to do with coffee cake type recipes (maybe it’s because it has the word coffee in it…he’s an addict). Which in itself is funny because I can barely gag a cup of Joe down. I really don’t get the world obsession…but hey that’s me. I don’t get beer either lol.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream….
Ok, so I know it’s October but I felt compelled to make ice cream this week. Maybe it’s the longing for the lazy days of summer or just a sweet tooth, who knows. Lately the mornings are so dark and cold that I struggle to drag my butt out of bed, I’m so warm and cozy under the covers and really, really don’t want to get up! My teenage daughter who gets up at 6am every morning for school can attest to this. (she’s not pleased leaving at 7:30 to a mom still in bed lol)!!
This past weekend here in Canada was Thanksgiving and I almost always have all of my family and friends for a large gathering. Each year I have to say I stick to the same recipes because frankly I think there would be an uprising within the family without all the usual’s. That being said the only area people are happy to try something new is dessert. Each year I strive to come up with something new, fun and delicious! This year was Mason jar dessert and Pumpkin Spice donuts! The recipe for these little morsels couldn’t be any easier. I’m not usually a big user of anything already prepared but this recipe is fun to cook with the kids and holidays are about kids!! I hope these become a fun tradition in your family too!
